Why choose The Mutt Hutt Way
Built by people who still run the kennel.
A note from the owner
How one person can do this.
I’ll tell you the part most software companies won’t.
I built this with AI. That’s why it costs what it costs, and why a fix takes a day instead of days or weeks.
Read the rest of my note
I spent twenty-two years working for a school board, ten of them in data. Then my husband and I started boarding dogs. For years I ran this place on spreadsheets and a calendar, and I looked at what was out there — priced for facilities four times my size, built by people who have never cleaned a room or called an owner about a dog who wouldn’t eat.
What changed is that the tools finally caught up. I could build the thing I’d been describing in my head for years.
But here’s what I want to be clear about. AI will write code for anybody. It won’t tell you that an expired vaccination needs to stop a booking, not politely warn you about it. It won’t tell you that two of your families will both name their dog Bear, and your software had better ask which one. It won’t tell you that a family bringing three dogs should get one bill, not three.
Every one of those came from doing the work. AI is how it got built. Twenty-some years of paying attention is what got built.
— Tiffani
Most kennel software is made by people who have never cleaned a run, or sat by a dog all night to keep him calm and make him feel loved. That is the whole difference, and it shows up in the small things.
We have the same problems you do
Every day of it. The phone going while someone is checking in, the dog that cannot go in the yard with the other one, the vaccination that expired quietly last Thursday.
It runs a real kennel every day
Ours. Not a demo kennel, not a test account — the boarding business this was built inside, with real dogs in the rooms and real families expecting them back.
Nothing ships because it looked good
It ships because it had to work on a Tuesday morning with the phone ringing. If it does not survive that, it does not go out.
We are all small businesses. Why shouldn’t the software that runs ours be one too?
No chain of command. No board of people to approve things. This is ours — as it should be.
That is The Mutt Hutt Way.
And if you see something we have missed
Your idea, your name on it.
We are stronger together.
You will spot things we never will, because your kennel is not our kennel. Tell us. We genuinely want it — the best things in here came from somebody saying it would be better if…
Fire, storms, a power cut in August, a loose dog, a sick one. The plan every boarding kennel is meant to have written down — laid out as a fill-in-the-blanks template, built from the one we use at ET Mutt Hutt.
Emergency call list — 911, your emergency vet, animal poison control, utilities and your staff phone tree.
Who does what — who is in charge, who counts the dogs, who calls the families.
Facility checklist — exits, extinguishers, shutoffs, generator and supplies.
Evacuation plan — the meeting point, where the dogs go, and how they get there.
Dog headcount sheet — room by room, with medications and a phone number for every family. The Mutt Hutt Way fills this one in for you from the dogs in your kennel.
Ten quick scenarios — fire, hurricanes, floods, heat, a loose dog, bites, outbreaks and more.
Calling families — what to say, and a log of who you reached.
Print it or save it as a PDF. Fill it in once, post it where your staff can see it, and look at it again every few months.
Already inside the software
The free plan is blank. The software fills these in.
The Mutt Hutt Way prints all 19 of these straight from your own dogs, rooms, rates and records — current, and without typing anything twice. They come with the software. The emergency plan above is the only free download.
$69 a month for twelve months. Nothing down, and nothing owed if you stop. After the twelfth payment the license is yours — the bill drops to $65 if you want us to keep looking after it, or to nothing at all if you would rather run it yourself.

12months, then it is yours
$828 total. Twelve payments across your first year, and the software payment is finished.
Or $699, paid in full. One payment instead of twelve, and $129 off. The same license, the same year of support, and nothing to remember each month.
Thirty days to change your mind. Put your own kennel in it and use it properly for a month. If it is not better than what you were using, say so and we give your money back. No form, no notice period, no talking you out of it.
Founding price — until November 1, 2026After that it is $99 a month for twelve months. Start before November and this stays your price for good: the agreement you sign is the one that governs your license, and it does not go up later because ours did.
Now look at year two.Year two is $65 a month if you want us to keep looking after it. Or nothing at all if you would rather run it yourself.Every other software bill you pay goes up. Ours is the only one we know of that goes down.
The license covers one kennel — the same owner, at the same location — for as long as you run it.

And we bring your records across. Your clients, your dogs, your reservations, your vaccination dates — out of the spreadsheets and into the software before your first day on it. You do not retype four years of work.
Once the license is paid off: $0/month software subscription. Your copy keeps working, at your kennel, for as long as you run it.
And every kennel runs the same version. There is only one, so nothing is held back from you for not paying — a fix is a fix for everybody. If we host it, updates arrive on their own. If you host it yourself, the new version is yours whenever you want it and we will tell you it is there; putting it in place is the one job that becomes yours.
I know you are busy. I know some days you barely make it. Seven days a week, 365 days a year is what we give our clients and their dogs — all of it. I would like to give you the same.
You will always get a real person on the phone, and an answer to your email within 24 hours. Most of the time, it will be me.
And if I stop doing this?
Fair question. I’m one person, and you should ask.
It is built with everything you need. It costs nothing to host yourself. You have a year to let me know if you need anything meaningful and helpful added. So why keep paying for someone to “just host” your site? Truly, this is how software should all be.

The Mutt Hutt Way Essentials
The half of a kennel that software forgets.
Every system will take a booking. None of them hold the plan you need at two in the morning, the number for the man who fixes the gate, or the date your insurance quietly runs out.
🚨
Emergency Plan
Written in your words, with the facility checklist that belongs beside it. Printed for the wall, and on every staff screen — readable by people who cannot change it.
The moment you need it is not the moment to be writing it.
📇
Contacts
The vet. The emergency vet. Feed, fencing, plumbing, the bookkeeper, the groomer who comes on Wednesdays. Numbers, account numbers, and what they did last time.
Not a note on the fridge. Not in one person's phone.
📁
Business Documents
Insurance, your license, the lease, inspection reports, signed agreements — each one filed with the date it expires.
Anything inside thirty days appears on Today's Kennel, before it lapses.

System Settings
Your rooms, your rates, your plans, your daily routine, your words on the client app. Set the software around the kennel, not the kennel around the software.
It should look like your business, because it is.
You will not find these four on anyone else's feature list. That is exactly the point — they are the parts a kennel owner needs and a software company never thinks to build.
And all the rest of it
The whole list, on one page.
Those four are the parts nobody else builds. Everything you would expect is here as well — bookings, dogs, vaccinations, care and medication, invoices and the tax paperwork, your staff, and what your families see on their own phones. It is all written down in one place, including the things the software deliberately does not do.
The care a dog needs lives in the office, and the work happens at the door. Close that gap whichever way suits your kennel — print the card and hang it on the run, or scan the code and it opens on the phone. Same information either way.
1
Assign the dog to a room. The room stays connected to the dog currently occupying it.
2
Scan it, or hang the card.Any phone opens the code at the run. The printed card needs no phone at all.
3
See what matters.Care instructions, medications, food, allergies, alerts, and the information needed to care for that dog.
Print them however you like.
Room cards at whatever size suits your clipboard, your folder, or the back of the door. Print them every morning if that is how your kennel runs.
Two more front doors
Your families and your staff each get their own way in.
Both come with the license. Neither is an add-on, and neither costs extra.
For your families
The Client App
Your families do their own paperwork, on their own phone, at eleven at night when they remember it.
Book a stay, and see the next one already on the books
Sign the client waiver online — once, not every visit
Photograph a vaccination record and send it straight in
Update the dog: allergies, how they are with other dogs, anything new
Change a phone number, a vet, or an emergency contact
Check the balance, and tap we’re on our way at pick-up
Scan the code at your gate to check themselves in — you see ✓ Arrived on the Daily Rundown
Nothing they send changes your records on its own. It arrives as a request, and you decide what sticks.
For your staff
The Employee App
Staff get the day in front of them and nothing they have no business seeing.
Sign in with their own code — their name and a number, like sarah12 — and a PIN only if you set one
Today at a glance: arriving, leaving, and who needs extra care
Scan a room’s QR and that dog’s care opens on the phone
Their own shifts, and their availability by morning, afternoon, evening
Ask for time off without catching you in the corridor
In an emergency: who is on the property, and how to reach their family
No pricing, no invoices, no balances. Those screens do not exist in the staff app at all.
And then they go home
The report card writes itself.
Everywhere else, someone fills in a form at five o’clock. Ours arrives already written — the stay knows its own dates and room, the care log knows what was ticked off each day, and the roster knows who else was in the yard. Your staff correct it rather than compose it.
One card at pick-up, sent straight from the app — and easy to print, because some things deserve a place on the fridge.

The question nobody asks in a demo
If you are not there tomorrow, the kennel still opens.
You are the one who knows the routine, the medication, and which two dogs cannot go in the yard together. So what happens at six in the morning when you are in a hospital bed, or three hours away on a road with no signal?
01
The day is already written down
The Daily Rundown is built once and remembered after that. Whoever opens up in the morning works from the same list you would have worked from, in the same order, without being told.
02
Every room explains itself
Scan the code on the door and that dog’s care is on the phone — food, medication, who they cannot go out with. Nobody has to ring you to ask what Bear eats.
03
The emergency page is not a binder nobody can find
A quick headcount for an evacuation. Your call list. Primary vet, the 24-hour hospital, poison control, animal control, the fire department. Where the shutoffs, extinguishers, carriers and first-aid kit are.
And you can change any of it from wherever you are. A hospital chair, a parking lot, somebody else’s phone. It is the same kennel whichever screen you open it on, and what you change is what they see next time they look.

Same Mutt Hutt Way framework. Your kennel on top.
No support ticket. No waiting on us.
What actually changes — and who changes it.
All of this is a screen you open and edit yourself, on a Tuesday night, without asking anyone. Not a change request. Not a phone call. Not a developer.
Your name on it
Business name and logo. The colors. The message your staff read when they open it each morning. Your Venmo, Cash App and Zelle handles, so families pay you the way they already pay you.
Your way of working
What your rooms are called and how many each holds. Which services you sell. The tasks on the Daily Rundown, built once and remembered after that. What goes on a care card. Which vaccinations you insist on. The words in your own waiver.
Your numbers
Rates. A peak surcharge and the dates it runs. How many dogs you will take in a day. Overnight capacity. Late stays, baths, extras, transport. Your tax.
The one thing you cannot break is the workflow underneath. That part stays dependable no matter what you change on top — which is the whole reason you are allowed to change so much.
Want to know what you can change?
Look for the paw.
A paw sits on anything you can change — thirty-four of them, across the dashboard, the calendar, dogs, rooms, finance and the rest. Click one and change it right there. No hunting through a settings tree for the screen that holds it.
It tells you what is yours. Every paw opens with a plain-English note about what that area lets you change.
And what is not. Sixteen areas carry no paw on purpose. Where something is fixed, it says so.
Including why. Six of the seven things feeding Needs Attention are yours to choose. Vaccine expiry is the seventh and always shows — a safety and legal matter, not a preference.
Same dependable system.Different kennel. Different setup. Still simple.
It does the office work. So you can do the dog work.
That is the point.
Every one of these stayed with us. The product is serious. The reason we built it is wonderfully simple.
Where it came from
Built in a kennel. Not a conference room.
We built the system we needed to run our own boarding business.
The Mutt Hutt Way grew out of real days at ET Mutt Hutt—dogs arriving, medications to remember, rooms to turn, clients to answer, reservations to manage, and a life we still wanted time to live.
I built this for our kennel, and I use it every day. My thoughts were that other kennels could use it as well. No hard sell — just sharing something that works, and hopefully giving more value for the money we all work so hard for. Why should we pay hundreds of dollars a month if we don’t need to?
I call it The Mutt Hutt Way because it’s the way we run our kennel — not just the software. It’s the way we do business: with care, love and dedication. We don’t do things the way everyone does them. We do them the way they should be done.

Ready when you are
Let's get started.
You will be talking to the person who built it and uses it every day — not a sales team, not a chatbot, and not somebody reading a script about a business they have never run.
Tell us how many runs you have and how you work now. We will reply with what it would look like.
What happens after you get in touch
A conversation. How your kennel runs, what is breaking, whether this suits you. If it does not, we will say so.
We set it up around you. Your rooms, your rates, your plans, your routine — in before you start, not homework left for you.
You run your kennel. $69 a month for twelve months, and a full year of support while you settle in.
Nothing is gated. The price is on this page, the software is running at a link you can open right now, and nobody has to talk you into anything.
Reading the fine print before you talk to anyone is a perfectly reasonable thing to do. Read the license — what it costs, what happens after year one, and what we owe each other.
